Designed and manufactured made to measure secure anti-ligatures, vandal resistant fittings. Developed to client specific requirements.

We were privileged enough to be given the opportunity to provide a lighting solution for the cell area within the court rooms of the Hague where high level offenders would be held prior to trial. The very nature of the building presented a number of challenges even before the design concepts of the luminaires could be taken in to consideration. The reinforced concrete structure of the building meant little or no alteration could be made to fabric of the building. Recess voids had originally been cast through cells and corridors during construction of building so our solution needed to fit the various areas covering any recess with one continuous fixture. The average length of the lighting fixtures was approximately 3.5 meters as one continuous luminaire which includes the main light LED plus an additional Night Light LED and also the additional services for Fire Alarm, Smoke Sensing and Fresh Air Circulation. We based the luminaire design around our Strenna Recess Range but was significantly redesigned as a special bespoke one piece 3-4 meter version with a variety of additional internal service requirements.

We had to redesign our manufacturing process to be able to produce the fitting lengths required which saw significant investment in new tooling and machinery. The specific lighting requirements were achieved using a multitude of latest Osram LED technology with the addition of lighting control achieved through specific diffusion control but still retaining significant impact strength with fully Anti Ligature requirements being met.

Another factor to overcome was how the finished products would be transported safely to site across the continent without damage during transit. Due to the restrictive time constraints of the project we had to ensure the installation process went as smoothly as possible so logistic planning was essential.

The project was designed, manufactured and delivered working closely in conjunction with our partner RX Light BV who supply our range of products exclusively throughout the Netherlands and Belgium territories.
